Only Wounded: Ulster Stories. Key Porter Books Toronto. 1997 ISBN 1-55013-809-X

Regrettably this work is now out of print but is available secondhand at http://www.abebooks.com

Only Wounded is a collection of 16 short stories set in my native Ulster during the 1969-1994 Troubles. It does not take sides but rather shows committed Loyalists and Republicans, and most importantly ordinary people caught up in extraordinary circumstances.

Opinion:

Hearing the gentle lilt of an Irish voice I forget the bombs, and hearing of the bombs I forget the gentle voices. It is so hard to understand the knot. Dir it begin in 1155 or 1916? Who cast the first stone?

Using his heart's sleeve Patrick Taylor rubs at the dark glass, and clearing just enough misty porthole he lets us glimpse inti Ireland's terrible confusion of passion.
